Work Permit:

Any foreigners who wish to work in Thailand for a long period of time will need to apply for a work permit and a one-year working visa to the government in Thailand under the Working of Alien Act, B.E. 2551 (2008) and Immigration Act, B.E. 2522 (1979). The Act requires that any person who is not a Thai nationality to obtain a work permit prior to engaging in work in Thailand.

As a practical matter, the distribution of a deceased person’s estate held by a third party requires a court order to be enforceable under Thai probate law. Thus, a petition in probate needs to be filed as soon as possible.
