What is Phuket Sandbox programmes?
The Phuket Sandbox plan is a tourism scheme that will allow fully vaccinated travelers to enter Phuket and greater Thailand without going through quarantine. The program is slated to take off on 1 July, 2021.
What are the requirements for entry?
Travellers must fly directly to Phuket, transit in another city or region is strictly prohibited.
Foreign Traveller Journey / Foreign tourists
- Tourists must be from low and medium risk countries (as determined by the Ministry of Public Health and Tourism Authority of Thailand).

- Must be in a low- and medium-risk country, for example, 21 days before entering the area
- Have been vaccinated by the FDA or World Health Organization, completed at least 14 days according to the type of vaccine and have a valid Vaccine Certificate.
- Have test results for COVID-19 RT-PCR within 72 hours.
- Have health insurance covering COVID-19 The coverage limit is not less than 1 hundred thousand USD. The insurance must cover the total duration of stay in Thailand.
- In the event that children under 6 years of age accompany the vaccinated recipient, they can travel with their parents.
Note: Child Policy
Children under 6 years of age must travel only with their parents or guardians who have been vaccinated;
In the case the parents or guardians are found to have COVID-19, the children are to be placed in isolation for 14 days.

Pre-arrival
In order to be eligible to enter in Thailand, vaccinated international travelers – and their children – need to have all of their advance arrangements in good order for arrival and entry. These include:
- A vaccine certificate to proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 no less than 14 days before the travel date with a vaccine registered with the MoPH or approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO);
- A valid visa;
- A Certificate of Entry (COE) issued by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate; When the registration is completed travelers will be provided with a 6-digits reference number. Wait for the results of approval for pre-approve within 3 days.
- A COVID-19 health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of US$100,000;
- A confirmation of booking in a SHA Plus-certified accommodation establishment.
- A medical certificate with an RT-PCR laboratory result indicating that COVID-19 is not detected issued no more than 72 hours before departure.

Upon arrival
- They will be subjected to screening and RT-PCR testing at the airport.
- They will need to download Thailand’s COVID-19 alert app. to allow the GPS tracking system.
- Check-in at the pre-booked SHA Plus-certified accommodation establishment.
Stay in Phuket
They may be required to undergo RT-PCR test several times during their stay:
* on day 6-7 at the hotel, or by a laboratory (outside lab) by the contracting hospital
* on day 12-13 at the hotel, residence or laboratory (outdoor lab) by the contracting hospital.

- For emergency in case of having respiratory or other related symptoms, please alert the staff at your accommodation or contact the nearest hospital.
Departure
- For traveling from Phuket to other Thai destinations, travelers are required to show a vaccine certificate and a medical certificate that they have tested negative for COVID-19;

Phuket Sandbox for Thai people
- A person who has been vaccinated with full doses. (must be injected at full dose According to the requirements of each vaccine, except Astrazeneca, after 14 days after the 1st injection, you can enter Phuket.)
- A person who has recovered from symptoms of COVID-19 not more than 90 days ago
- Receive COVID-19 test results by RT-PCT method or Antigen Test no later than 7 days after the examination.
- Must have Doctor Chana on a smartphone and agree to enable location sharing at all times
- Show the above evidence to the Communicable Disease Control Officer before entering Phuket
- Observe your symptoms. If suspected of contracting COVID-19 to see a doctor urgently
